UI/UX design

Aspin Management Systems provide a suite of web applications for sales reps, trade websites and product information management. Together, their products form an ecosystem of B2B sales software. However the various systems have been developed at different times over the years, using different frameworks and styles and have become disjointed. They decided to completely rebuild the applications with a unified style but their in-house team did not have design skills and so they outsourced the preparation of the new design system and style guide to Digitals.

We started by analysing their existing systems and compiling a list of all of the key components and design elements used. These were then prioritised to determine the items that the in-house development team would need first. Having looked at various CSS component libraries we decided that Tailwind would be the most appropriate and would significantly reduce the time required to build the new design system. We then started the design process, analysing the way that each component was being used across the various systems and standardising the approach to finish with one common component with a standard look and feel. This was presented in Figma for revue by the Aspin team and, once approved, we then customised the Tailwind component accordingly to provide the finished HTML/CSS code snippet ready for the Aspin team to incorporate in their work.
The end result is a complete, online, library of code snippets with accompanying documentation describing their use and a set of Figma mock-ups showing examples of the components used in various pages for the developers to follow.
