Maintaining and modernising 'A Life in a Day’ for The Method
A Life in a Day is an award-winning immersive app that helps staff at many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies understand what it’s like to live with a particular illness. We provide its ongoing maintenance – and we’re currently modernising its back end to the latest version of Microsoft .NET.

About the app
A Life in a Day is an immersive simulation lasting up to 24 hours. Participants go about their day as normal, but for the duration they experience what it’s like to live with a specific disease or condition: the app sends interactive challenges to their smartphone that reflect the patient’s real experience, so they face the choices patients face and feel the consequences of their decisions. It’s a powerful empathy-building tool, and it has won numerous awards for its use of mobile technology.
What we do
We maintain A Life in a Day for The Method – keeping a live, widely-used application running reliably for a demanding global user base. On top of that ongoing support, we’re now carrying out a significant piece of modernisation: upgrading the app’s back end to the latest version of Microsoft .NET. This is exactly the kind of work that keeps a successful application alive for the long term. An app that’s been in use for years needs its foundations kept current – for security, for supportability, and so it can keep evolving.
